They never appreciated a luxury holiday but now my girls (the whirls as I call them – because they are always whirling around) have really started to enjoy a touch of 5 star…….. Ooooh! they exclaimed as we were shown to our room at the stunning Villa Gallici Hotel in Aix en Provence.
Surrounded by silk and velvet and gorgeous smelling hand cut roses, everything in this magical haven had been thought out carefully. The whirls eyes sparkled! No nagging from mum to wash, they were straight in the shower with lotions and potions smelling of rose and lavender. Oh Lovely…. peace and quiet……..no computer games and no stampy longnose minecraft videos to listen to (if you don’t know this guy don’t go there as you will regret it!).
Then, from the shower I heard the dreaded words . What is the WIFI code?…… Oh I don’t know it! I replied….. It seemed to work as they were getting hungry and had snacks on their mind. One call and five minutes later a silver tray laden with milk and cookies and more flowers arrived…. yummy……
After the most comfortable sleep for a long time we awoke late……. no problem at The Villa Gallici. Breakfast was a real treat served in the luxurious lounge. The whirls spotted the waffle maker and off they went to practice making and eating.. The staff were kind and attentive to the kids – nothing stuffy and snobby here.
A stroll around the grounds of the villa was delightful and the hotel is only ten minutes walk from the centre of Aix. Too cold for the pool but a beautiful November day, so a spot of sunbathing on a pool side lounger instead. WIFI mum!…….. oh yes, I replied….. We want to watch stampy longnose minecraft videos. I surrendered finally…… even 5 star luxury doesn’t beat the world of computer games. For me, a delightful hour exploring this exquisite hotel and relaxing. It felt like I had spent a week away. I couldn’t fault it.
